I created a series of site specific kinetic mobiles for the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick. The 'angels' are joyful and exuberant – but on closer inspection they have tiny bandages on their arms and legs.
The wards of the hospital can typically be very clinical and austere and for many children the wait within them can be a daunting and intimidating experience. The Angel Trees mobiles serve to both distract and comfort sick children prior to their procedures. In turn this relaxes the children and facilitates a calmer medical process for them and their families.
